Founder & leadership

Maggie Kay

Human Rights Advocate · Founder · Social Entrepreneur · Author

Maggie Kay is a human rights advocate, nonprofit founder, social entrepreneur and author whose work centres on education, human dignity and sustainable community development.

Through the Foundation, Maggie works with schools on gardens, practical learning and children’s wellbeing. She supports local leadership and teachers’ involvement in planning and running activities.

She serves on government and nonprofit boards, with an interest in public accountability and community participation.

Her work includes school partnerships, advocacy and fundraising for educational programs.

As an author, she extends these concerns through Heavenly Hell: When the Things Meant to Save Us Become the Things We Must Survive and Ask Believe Receive. Her writing explores dignity, institutional accountability and the barriers that stand between people and opportunity.

Financial records, reporting & responsible stewardship

Supports accurate accounting records, budget monitoring and clear financial reporting. Works with the Treasurer and Foundation leadership to strengthen financial controls and help connect spending decisions with program priorities.

Partnerships & Community Engagement Coordinator

Community relationships & partner coordination

Supports relationships with community partners, volunteers and organizations that share the Foundation’s goals. Coordinates communication and follow-up so that partnerships respond to local priorities and lead to practical opportunities for collaboration.

Organizes meeting notices and agendas, records minutes and resolutions, and maintains clear board records that support informed decisions and accountability.

Financial oversight & stewardship

Reviews budgets and financial reports, helps the board assess how resources are used, and supports financial controls and clear reporting.
